We are facing an incredibly serious threat to access to healthcare for millions of Americans and over 142,000 Montanans. Congress and the new administration are working to take away our health coverage, hike costs for everyone, and dismantle programs like Medicaid which cover our most vulnerable neighbors and community members.
The AHCA, and the parallel proposals currently being considered in the Senate, threaten coverage for
hundreds of thousands of Montanans. Working families, children, seniors, people with disabilities – everyone who today or in the future will rely on Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, or the Affordable Care Act is at risk.

Congress needs to work together to improve the Affordable Care Act so it works better for everyone, not tear the whole thing down and destabilize the entire health care system. And, now more than ever, we need folks from across the state to take action to keep Montana covered. Our senators need to hear exactly what is at stake for our communities.
Contact our Senators and share your thoughts on Medicaid, CHIP, the ACA, or the AHCA.

“As patient advocates, doctors, hospitals, caregivers, and direct service providers, we stand united in our opposition to the AHCA and any attempts to weaken Medicaid and affordable access to health care.
We urge Senator Steve Daines to reject any bill that: caps or block grants federal funds for Medicaid; effectively ends Montana’s bipartisan Medicaid expansion; reduces health care coverage for millions of families; charges seniors a lot more for their health coverage; and reduces cost-sharing assistance for those with low and middle incomes who purchase plans in the marketplace. Cuts to Medicaid will put at risk Medicaid expansion, Healthy Montana Kids, and traditional Medicaid that helps seniors, individuals with disabilities, and children with special needs.
Montana needs Congress to focus on finding ways to make health care more affordable and accessible for all Montanans.“
