Past Accomplishments
In
2004 Montana Women Vote:
- Registered over 7,000 voters statewide
- Achieved a 77% voter turnout rate of voters we registered in the November 04 election
- Conducted voter outreach in 5 communities
- Distributed voter education materials to 20,000 Montanans
In 2005 Montana Women Vote supported legislation that:
- Increased voters' access to ballots and to the polls
- Improved economic security for low-income Montanans
- Promoted reproductive freedom and personal responsibility
- Enhanced communities' efforts to stop domestic violence
- Promoted environmental health
- Advanced the cause of human rights
In 2006 Montana Women Vote
- Issued a biennial Governor's Report Card, rating the Administration on its efforts to assist Montana women and their families
- Expanded the involvement and leadership of Montana Women Vote's constituents through our Leadership Development Program
- Supported the minimum wage initiative by gathering signatures and informing our constituents about the ballot measure
- Registered over 3,000 voters statewide - the majority of whom were lower-income women
- Mailed issue education and absentee ballot request forms to nearly 10,000 Montanans,
- Produced and distributed a statewide voter guide to 13,000 Montanans to inform them on candidates' responses to questions about issues important to Montana women and their families
- Increased our political education outreach efforts through neighborhood meetings and collaborations with existing groups
- Hosted a legislative candidate forum in Missoula
- Contributed to increased voter turnout in each of the five counties in which we work -- the turnout ranged from a low of 56% to a high of 75%
- Published a comprehensive policy agenda for the 2007 Legislative Session
